Robert M. White/P-51C Mustang “Dutchess of Manhattan”
During WWII, White flew more than 50 missions in P-51’s before being shot down and taken prisoner in February 1945. As a test pilot in the early 1960’s, he became the first to exceed Mach 4, 5 and then 6, all in the X-15. He was enshrined in 2006.
