In Memory of Walter C. Pague


National Aviation Hall of Fame mourns the Passing of Industry leader Walter C. Pague

The NAHF announced today the passing if Walter C. Pague, a former Director of Aviation for ARMCO Steel Corporation and long time Board of Nominations Member. Born in eastern Pennsylvania July 7, 1915 Died July 1, 2011 in his sleep. He attended University of Southern California, while working at Douglas Aircraft. Always aspired to be a pilot and after completion of certification began flight instructing. He went to Canada in 1940 and flew for their Training Command. Then after Pearl Harbor joined the US Navy where he was assigned to the Transport Command until 1945. December 1945 until 1980 was Director of Aviation for Armco Steel.

His vision and determination helped make possible the Business Aviation Industry we have today. For nearly three-quarters of a century, he not only served our aviation industry with distinction but embodied the highest qualities to which we all aspire. He was a true giant, one of aviation’s best.
